Indigo English is committed to protecting your privacy, and takes its responsibilities regarding the security of customer information seriously.

What type of information is collected?
 

I receive, collect and store any information you enter on the website or provide me in any other way.

 

Personal information is gathered from the contact function on the website.  When you send an enquiry regarding translation, proofreading or English teaching services, you are asked for information such as your name, e-mail address, telephone number, contact details and the nature of the enquiry.  A record of this information is kept in order to recognise you as a customer in the future and fulfil the assignments you place with Indigo English.  I keep a record of any e-mail correspondence you send me, which helps me to manage your enquiry, provide my service and keep track of any problems or concerns you may have had with my services.

 

In addition, I collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, computer, and connection information.  I may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.  

 

 

Why is this information collected?

This non-personal and personal information is collected for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate services;

  2. To provide visitors with ongoing customer assistance;

  3. To be able to contact visitors with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information which may be used to provide and improve services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 


Key third party providers

Indigo English does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.

Indigo English is hosted on the Wix.com platform.  Wix.com provides me with the online platform that allows me to market my services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. I also make use of a tool from Google called Google Analytics which tells me about the way people are using Indigo English.  It uses cookies to detect that someone has been to the site before, so that I can see how often people return to the site, how long they stay, and where they tend to go.  I use this to try to work out what kind of experience they’re having on the site so I can make it better.

All the information collected via the website or through correspondence with you is used to operate and improve the service offered to you.

I will retain a record of your personal information.  This is done in order for Indigo English to provide you with a high quality and consistent service.  I will always retain your personal information in accordance with law and regulation and never retain your information for longer than is necessary.

  2. Click on 'Settings' or 'Options' (dependant on version)

  3. Click 'Advanced'

  4. Under 'Privacy and security', click 'Content Settings...'

  5. Click on 'Cookies' and tick ‘Block third-party cookies’
